Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Each year around 100 young people from across Southern Wales take part in a week of challenging activities in the Brecon Beacons.

The course focuses on leadership skills using outdoor activities as the base.  Our objective is to enable the students to develop team-working skills; explore leadership through leading a team and being led; develop greater personal confidence.  In the long run we hope that the experience will not only benefit the students, e.g. in work or University life, but encourage them to take on leadership roles within their communities.

Brecon club sponsor a limited number of places on these courses.

The Courses run usually during late July and early August each year and are based at Storey Arms Outdoor Activities Centre.

As with all sponsorship provided by Brecon Rotary, successful applicants, as a condition or attending the course, are required to attend a Youth evening, usually held on a Monday evening around mid September, and give a short presentation on their experiences and achievements on the RYLA course.
